"SOURCE" ON PERMANENT DISPLAY


John's most recently installed permanent piece is "Source". It was built over a 5 month period culminating in the installation August 5, 2006.

"Source" hangs in the shared lobby of the East Grand Rapids Community Center where the lobby is shared by the library and city offices and the building is a LEED certified green building.

"Source" may be seen at 750 Lakeside Drive in East Grand Rapids.


The mobile and it's installation was underwritten by the Louis M. Dexter Memorial Foundation.

"COME ON OVER" ON PERMANENT DISPLAY

"Come On Over" was installed in August  2008 as part of the Art In Transit at The Rapid bus main terminal in downtown Grand Rapids.

This piece was chosen from entries submitted from all over the country and is one of eight pieces to go on permanent display there.

"Peace Blend" was created for the Homeroasters.org "Kick It Up For Coffee Kids" benefit auction. The sculpture will be up for auction for the month of May, beginning May 1, 2009

Coffee Kids® Grounds for Hope was born out of the specialty coffee industry by Bill Fishbein in 1988. Coffee Kids® has distributed over $4 million dollars in funds “to help coffee-farming families improve the quality of their lives.” With four distinct areas of focus, Latin American countries have realized improvements in healthcare, education for children, community-based projects and micro-credit consisting of $50 - $100 loans that have enabled over 4,000 women to own their own businesses and support their families.
